Free! starts with four boys—Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa and Rin—before they graduate from elementary school. They all participated in a swimming tournament and won, though they parted ways. Years later, Haruka and Makoto reunite with Nagisa when Nagisa enrolls into high school a year after Haruka and Makoto. Not long after, Rin, who was thought to be in Australia, turns up and challenges Haruka to a race and wins. Afterward, Nagisa suggests creating a swimming club and using the run-down outdoor pool. Haruka, Makoto, and Nagisa, and later on, Rei, create the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club and work together to make the club a success. Rin's victory over Haruka means nothing to him as he realizes that Haruka had stopped swimming competitively and wasn't in top shape. He claims that he cannot get over the fact until Haruka competes against him for real. The members of the revived Iwatobi Swim Club later enter a swimming competition against Rin.
These boys all have something in common and that is that they love swimming. One member though, Haruka a.k.a Haru, loves to swim because he feels calm and at peace when he's in the water. He is a genius at swimming. Super fast when he swims freestyle AND REMEMBER HARU ONLY SWIMS IN FREESTYLE!

Yes, I know.... There are only 4 members in the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club. Psh, the other kids in their school just don't understand how amazing the feeling would be if you're in the water. I MEAN COME ON! IT FEELS DAMN AMAZING (I know, because I'm on the swim team of my school Velez College) HECK YEAH!!!
Free has two seasons already: Free! and Free! Eternal Summer
Some of you guys may find it gay-ish but please don't. Refrain from thinking that!! They just have this strong bond with one another, that's all. Just like brothers and sisters.
For me, this anime is really inspiring even to those who love sports. You could see teamwork, faith, encouragement, friendship and love for the sport.
I recommend for those looking a fresh and cute anime... this anime is to be watched. OHYEAH!!!
